In accordance with Florida law, Sherco Auto Supply collects sales tax on sales to Florida residents, regardless of whether they order from the internet, over the telephone, or through face to face discussions with Sherco Auto Supply.
Sherco Auto Supply also collects sales tax on telephone and internet orders picked up in person by a non-Florida resident. However, Sherco Auto Supply does not collect sales tax on telephone or internet orders shipped to residents of other states. Non-Florida residents may be responsible for use taxes under the laws of their own state and should consult their accountant.
Presently, there is a movement to require internet merchants to collect sales tax on all out of state orders. This would require the merchant to conform to thousands of different local sale tax rates and laws. This would surely add a considerable amount to the price of goods. Please contact your local elected representative, and urge them to keep the internet free of cumbersome sales tax regulation.
