Keelmont™ is the house brand of Sherco-Auto & Marine Supply

For more than thirty years, Sherco-Auto & Marine Supply has sold automotive and marine electrical parts — wire and cable, battery cable, terminals and connectors, fuses, switches, relays, and the shop supplies that go with them.

Keelmont is the name we now put on some of those products. Same company, same warehouse, same people answering the phone. What changes is that the parts we stand behind carry a brand of their own.

Why a house brand

Most of what we sell isn't complicated. It's the part a technician reaches for when a boat won't start or a trailer harness has corroded through. What matters is that the copper is copper, the crimp holds, the gauge is honest, and the part is on the shelf when you need it.

Putting our own name on those parts makes that accountability explicit. When a box says Keelmont, we specified it, we stock it, and we answer for it.

Where the name comes from

A keel is the structural spine of a boat — the member that runs bow to stern along the bottom, carries the load, and keeps everything else aligned. Race engineers borrowed the word for the structure under a chassis where the suspension mounts. In both cases it means the same thing: the part underneath that everything else depends on.

That's a fair description of automotive and marine electrical work. Nobody admires the wiring. It just has to hold.
